Another successful Charity Day – Nearly £1,400 raised

Thank you to all those who attended and supported the good causes

In spite of the grey clouds, the chilly breeze and the light shower, the afternoon was filled with fun and laughter. Just about everyone raved about the sausage rolls, the quiches and the lemon posset!! The Roger Hind Trio entertained us all with soothing jazz and we raised an amazing £1,385.76 which will be split between Alzheimer’s and MacMillan Cancer. The real heroes of the day were the amazing band of merry workers who slaved in the kitchen cutting crusts off the bread, making sandwiches and providing endless pots of tea. THANK YOU, to my lovely neighbours and friends for your wonderful support – this wouldn’t have happened without you!! We all enjoyed the left overs at “the after party” and are already talking about next year’s event!!

I’d also like to thank the stall holders: Morag at Pop Up Plant Stall in Crowborough, Liz McLennan (see below), Terrie at Craftjunkie (also to Ali & Obi who helped with the plants) and Sue at Bey Tree in Limpsfield (who stood in at incredibly short notice) – It was lovely to have you all there.

Second Helpings Charity Day 2023

Huge thanks to all those who donated the wonderful raffle prizes – Kingscote Vineyard, Chartham Park, Horne Golf Club, Hatty Calnan, Jill Williamson, Chris Grosvenor and Bey Tree. Thanks too to everyone who purchased the tickets!! – The lucky winner of the enormous bottle of Rose was Susan Page (pictured above). Other winners include Stuart & Sophie J, Anthony Morrisey, Adam Wilson, Linda Kanji, Jimmy Newland, Terry, Adam D, Donna Patterson and Danielle Bidos. Thanks to the lovely ladies from Charters Village who always come along to support me!! I’ll be selling my usual savoury selection & providing lunches to the stall holders at their Christmas Fair on Friday 24th November.

THANKS AGAIN TO EVERYONE WHO CAME AND SUPPORTED US

Next year’s date is 29th June, 2024 – the jazz band are coming back but this time we are doing lunch and the sun will definitely shine 😊

McLennan’s Re-Loved Creations was started using their family’s creativity and resourcefulness to raise money for their son’s volunteering trip to Vietnam.

“Inspired by nature and holding sustainability at our core we’ve created a small selection of copper decorations, Lino prints and other sustainably produced items. Each piece unique and all made in the home by our family.”
