Latest News: Lockdown in March 2020 – Stay home. Stay safe. We’ll meet again

Wait Patiently, Keep Safe, Be Kind. Celebrations will follow.

Coronavirus Update – March 2020

Although Second-Helpings was only open for three months before we chose to temporarily close our doors, we started well and had a steady flow of customers during that short time.  I just wanted to say a huge thank you to those friends (and friends of friends) who supported me during that brief period. I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to seeing you later in the Summer when this horrible time has passed so please, please keep safe and stay at home.

To those who have booked to dine in April and May – I have already made contact and am extremely grateful that you have put your celebrations on hold until later in the year.

Our last bash at Second-Helpings was a girlie night out on 13th March and it was a truly memorable evening – can’t wait to have you girls back again and thank you so much for sharing your photographs on social media.

During the next few weeks I will be keeping  myself busy in the greenhouse & garden and am currently planting a wild flower meadow (I will post pictures of progress). In a couple of months I dream of sitting in the sunshine watching the butterflies and bees, reflecting on life with family and loved ones.

Being a fledgling business, I’m afraid I do not qualify for a lump sum of cash from the Government in June so I am really hoping that when the time comes to celebrate (and we will for sure) you will support your small, local businesses to give us all that vital jump start into action!

Being optimistic,  I have decided to take bookings from 1st July onwards – no deposits required, just a save the date – and if necessary, we can move the dates again. I just need reassurance that you lovely people will support Second-Helpings and it will give me time to plan to make your occasion the most spectacular one to remember!

Please also note, that I can do takeaway food (subject to getting the ingredients) so please contact me if I can be of any help.

We all know what an amazing job the NHS is doing and we are blessed to have them. Please don’t forget all the other heroes …. the drivers, the refuse collectors, the supermarket staff … all those amazing people who are volunteering…. too many to mention!.

THANK YOU and keep well.
