DECEMBER 2023: Farewell to ’23 – End of year reflections and exciting things to come

Everyone reflects at this time of year about what we’ve done, what we’ve achieved and also the things we are not so proud of! Here are some of mine:-

Four days into the New Year in 2023, I managed to completely destroy my own website!! Thanks to Adam,  I had a brand new, brighter & fresher looking website within 10 days!

Second-Helpings had its first wedding!! On Coronation Day – in the pouring rain!

Lots of lovely walks around our beautiful countryside with wonderful friends, exploring new places and delicious pub lunches. (shout out for The Sloop Inn)

Holiday in Lisbon – exquisite food, countryside, beaches and sunshine – something we didn’t get too much here in the UK.

A birthday celebration in London with an old primary school friend (shout out to Bentleys)

Second-Helpings first 1st birthday party – Little Arthur :)

Bottomless Prosecco Brunch at Kingscote

Wealdon County Fair – delicious picnic lunch

40th Wedding Anniversary – the most memorable, inspiring food I  have ever eaten at Ferra in Palma

Ladies World Cup Final (sadly didn’t end well) but what a brilliant job the ladies did!

Started Yoga lessons with Alex at Starborough Manor

Our daughter, Harriet achieved a First Class Degree and was named as the Sussex Police Undergraduate of the Year by Cumbria University!!

Kensington Palace Crown to Couture Exhibition

Charity Day at Second-Helpings – raised an amazing £1,400

London Gay Men’s Chorus hosted by Sandi Toksvig at The Cadogan Hall

But most of all, I’ve enjoyed every single celebration we’ve hosted at Second-Helpings this year, its been an absolute privilege to cook for you all – here’s to many more in 2024!!
