The New Year brings a new menu!
Whilst still updating our main menu (to include some homely winter warmers and more traditional fare) we are full of anticipation and excitement to launch our new Tasting Menu Dining Experience.
The Tasting Menu comes with only one stipulation ….. that bookings are for a minimum of six people. You choose how many courses you would like – from 5 upwards! You then choose the dishes that inspire you most. The choices will change with the seasons (e.g. wild garlic, asparagus, Jersey Royals, delicious tomatoes, ripe summer fruits etc.) To enhance your dining experience, each course can be paired with a delicious wine, from a crisp white to robust reds (conditions apply).

Marinated Beetroot with Goat’s Cheese and Beetroot Dressing & walnut granola
Twice baked cheese soufflé in a cream sauce with pancetta
Twice baked cheese soufflé with salad & walnuts/pomegranates (lighter option than above)
Mixed Mushrooms with garlic & Emmental cheese
Caesar Salad in a Parmesan basket
Goat’s cheese coated in panko breadcrumbs served with a tomato salsa & honey drizzle
Croquettes with a zingy apple chutney (various options containing meat, poultry & fish available)
Burrata with chargrilled grapes and basil
Goat’s cheesecake with red onion jam
Gratin of roasted butternut squash, leeks, sweetcorn and hazelnuts with a cheese, cream sauce
Various tartlets in a crisp pastry served with salads (many options available)

Gravadlax with picked cucumber and cauliflower in a horseradish sauce

We had the most wonderful celebration with Barbara at Second Helpings for my friend’s baby shower. Barbara went above and beyond to cater to each guest and give us a really special afternoon. The food we had for afternoon tea was so delicious, with amazing quiches and beautiful cakes. The venue was so perfect too and wonderful having an exclusive space just for us all. We can’t thank Barbara enough for making it such a special day and we’ll definitely be going back for a summer picnic in the garden!

Due to the success of last year’s classes, Second-Helpings has invited Alex Mannering
to hold a 90 session of yoga in the garden followed by a delicious
home cooked lunch. Details to follow but bookings are being taken now.
